At Liban Creative Studio, I’m always exploring ways to push the boundaries of minimalist product photography. This personal project with DAVIDsTEA gave me the perfect opportunity to experiment with color theory, set design, and storytelling—on my own terms.
For this shoot, I selected two contrasting yet complementary tea varieties: Organic Toasted Marshmallow Matcha and Organic Le Digestif. Each product inspired its own distinct narrative and palette.
Image One: Toasted Marshmallow Matcha
I wanted to capture the warmth and indulgence of this blend while maintaining an editorial and elevated styling. The colour story here is a dreamy gradient of pastel pink to blue, evoking a morning sky—a subtle nod to comfort and routine. A glass of matcha sits next to the tin, with perfectly toasted marshmallows hinting at the flavour. The clean, diffused lighting enhances the gloss of the matcha and the soft textures without overwhelming the composition.

Key Details:
Lighting: Single soft light source with fill, to keep highlights crisp and shadows subtle.
Surface & Props: Soft matte podiums create clean lines; marshmallows add texture and storytelling.
Mood: Cozy, modern, nostalgic.
Image Two: Le Digestif Herbal Infusion
This image was all about softness and calm. I introduced natural elements—white daisies and curved white set pieces—to match the tea’s relaxing, digestive properties. The color palette was carefully chosen to feel cool and airy, aligning with wellness and clarity.

Key Details:
Lighting: Strong directional light with controlled shadows to emphasize natural freshness.
Color Play: Mint backgrounds and florals reinforce the botanical ingredients.
Mood: Fresh, floral, and functional.
The Importance of Personal Projects
This shoot wasn't client-commissioned—it was created purely to challenge myself, refine my visual voice, and expand Liban Creative Studio’s portfolio of clean, elevated visuals tailored for modern food and wellness brands. I believe personal projects are just as important as commercial ones—they’re where new ideas are tested and future directions are born.
